Hi everyone, time for my annual post on Sijun. I might have posted this image here before once; it has been "in progress" for about a year(working on it off and on between 3d projects.)

I have put hundreds of hours into it but I'm still not satisfied. I keep looking at it and it just doesnt seem "together" but I can't put my finger on what exactly it needs to pull it together. Any suggestions? |

The city is so insanely detailed and yet shes not got a great deal and the dragons got practically none...just my two cents. Her left hand is also a little small.
Its very nice tho xD The buildings are very well done |

kd is right.
in addition, the dragon looks like its just hanging there in the air, do something to make its wings look in motion. his posture isnt synamic enough. fog would be nice. add some fog in the bottom to take the focus off the buildings and bring them to the woman. it will also give a feeling like we are way up in the clouds. also, why are all the building the same hight? different hights would add interest to the drawing, imho.
besides these crits, i think its wonderful and i love the detail |

Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely see what you mean about the detail on the woman. I do want the focus to be on her, and as it is I keep wanting to look at all the architecture instead... I do want people to look at it of course or I wouldnt have drawn it so detailed but I want it to be more balanced. Well its back to the drawing board for this project. Hopefully it won't take another year to finish it! |

I'm really liking what you have so far. The architecture is stunning. I would just refine the woman and dragon some more, until it all looks a little more balanced. But it's coming along very well. |
