When I looked at painter 8. I also decided to check out paintshop Pro 8.
And I�m quite impressed.
It is in some ways much better than Photoshop 6. And not that far from photoshop 7. It has a quite nice brush engine which is easy and very fast to use and quite powerful.
It also has very nice vector editing tools.
One thing that is not as good as photoshop is the layer handling.
Because the layer options are hidden, you have to doubleclick the layer to get access to settings like layer opacity, visibility and so on. So its not visible as in Photoshop.
But its just as powerful.
You can have colored groups.
You can even have adjustment layers.
That is a layer that applies an image effect like adjusting the brightness/contrast.
For 1/8 of the price of photoshop I think its alot of value for money. |

I was wrong, you can see everything that has to do with layers. You just have to make the layer window wider.
So I think I�m going to value this program even higher! |
