Sorry to say so Socar, but these last scetches have been some of the most interesting stuff i've seen from you......you know, not as polished as you usually do them. Ofcourse you have the skill to do both, just don't try to convince yourself that you don't. THAT would indeed be a mistake.
So do more damnit!!!!

sukhoi - i am with you all the way. this is the best thread on the web because it is promoting a whole range of impressionistic and emotive styles that provide such a refreshing contrast with the majority of airbrushed pixelperfect material that dominates the digi-paint scene. I am far from against the strive for perfection, but embrace the skill of capturing the essence of something quickly.

Spooge the last series of images u made are fandidiliastic! Is that mother waring a mickey mouse disneyworld hat? I bet this is some new project, before it was lots of samurai dudes and *POOF* tao feng stuff.
I think Janne's characterss would fit well in there, I love his characters with depressed faces and high hats. |

This is some useless twat riding my bike. Somebody keeps stealing my bicycle and riding it around--completely shameless. I haven't caught them at it yet, but this morning, my bike wasn't there for a while, then it came back. That's the closest I've come yet to catching the bike thief.
Oh, thanks for the nice comments on my other sketches, guys. Sorry to be such a downer yesterday. I'm just in a drawing/painting rut lately. I'm not happy with anything I do. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

upps, you beat me to it. kat is gone now, I can breathe a little. Seems people like the little red haired girl in the mickey hat. Flush, they really are just playing off of the nemo pics that Ceenda did. I was also thinking about the few European comics I have seen that like to crash together two universes and call it kreative, you know, "it's a "3 parts renaissance love story, 2 parts futuristic space opera, lotsa effects and hardware, and 1 part porno..." Letsse, egyptian tech was that strargate thing, the victorian tech was nemo, what period has not been crossbred yet?
Boy that sounds nasty, don't mean it that way. I like what I have seen, clearly, here I am doin the same thing.
I like Socars drawings. Since I am a lazy bastard, I want shape to do as much for me as I can, so I don't have to lick (paint) it to death. Do more socar, hundreds. I see your bike is named Rat:) I think I will sign up with Epilogue.

Thanks, spooge! My bike's actually called the "Ratmobile" (I'm such a dork)...but I couldn't fit the whole word on. Anyway. I have the opposite problem. I don't really understand shape well enough to get it to do that much work for me. Gotta work on that.
Me. Playing dressup. (No, I don't really own such a costume.) _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

Yess, native americans rounding up buffalo with ion-driven hoverbikes!
Hpxxx, hehe I don't like mickey either. Mickey is a hip way of alluding to the evil aspects of the western world I guess. And wearing the mark of darkness is the ultimate display of security and confidence. Umm except no one gets it like that... ergh
Socar, this is not meant to say" do it this way!" I just liked the image and saw this in there somewhere. Like yours better anyway. Mine hurts my eyes. I am forcing mself to try to work with line more.

No worries, spooge, I didn't take it the wrong way at all. I like your take on it--looks wicked. A lot more vivid than mine. I like what you do with colour. Especially those dazzling reds. I never have the guts to use THAT red.
Damn, no sketches today...gotta do some real work. ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.
