Some games are so good, and you love em' so much, you've decided to never uninstall them, and keep playing them no matter what new games are released. These games have earned a permanent home on your hard drive, and even if you had to reinstall your entire computer, you'd put these games back on the hard drive:
Mine:
Half-Life MODs:
Team Fortress
Counter-Strike
Death Match Classic
Unreal Tournament
Snowcraft(you know, that little cute game?)
That's about it for me. I'm a FPS person all the way. Multiplayer is what gets me to come back again and again. Single player stuff kinda loses its replay value after you've finished the game more than once.
What games live in your hard drive permanently? I mean, they have to be on your hard drive RIGHT NOW, and have been for some time. |

Outlaws, Total Annihilation, Rocket Jockey & Scorcher. I bet noone here even knows the last 2 ones.
There's a few more but they're not on my drive right now as I play really rarely these days and haven't installed them after formatting the last time. |

Quake 1 since that is where I got started on fps games. Even though quake 3 is what my clan plays right now it just doesn't deserve my hard drive space. But I'm primarily an rpg person and Planescape: Torment always has a place on my hd seeing as it is one of the best written rpgs I've played. Other than that ... err ... hearts? |

It'll definitely be Diablo II and the Expansion pack, along with over 400 screenshots.
Other games that has stayed for long are:
-Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
-Dark Forces
-Jedi Knight
-Unreal
-Full Throttle
-The Longest Journey. |

No game has permanently settled on my HDD because i delete them right after i get bored of them hehe. The only way for a game to stay on my HDD is:
1. if i forgot i haven't deleted it yet
2. the name of the game is Half-Life
Medal of Honor looks muy excellente |

Doom 2-- I miss my 3000 extra levels.
Quake 2-- I lost my CD, so no uninstall for me.
Half-Life-- I had to delete it to make room for Unreal, which I deleted soon after. |

I agree with c there, q1 still lives! I still play where my roots came from (qwca with the stickmen o|-< ) from time to time. Too bad cheating is rampant now. |

Half-life, Unreal Tournament, Max Payne (the greatest time-killer of all time) and my roms...
horstenpeter, I know what Scorcher is, but I don't understand why you play it
SWANY, I remember Ski or Die... I loved it, but the music... the music was really awful!

If I leave a game onthe HD a long time, it's cause I can't bring myself to finish it. :] Thief2 was like that, I had it on here for a year without playing it(I forget what level I was on). Oh well |

quake, homeworld, half-life, and atleast one unreal game.
Quake and homeworld will be on my hd's even when my computer won't be able to play them due to tech advances and such. Both games changed their genres. |

How dare you trigger, the ski or die music started the progression of some of todays best music, I cant think of any though. didodadadidodada (that's supposed to be music), the best part on ski or die is the part where in the arials if you smashed the keys hard enough you could go into outer space. |
