I have the next three days off from work so I figured that it would be a good idea to get back to things that I haven't done in a while. This painting is a total breakthrough for me...as far as digital painting goes. It seems like I'm more comfortable w/ painting ever since I started w/ the airbrush at Six Flags. I'm sure that has an effect somehow. Or maybe it just took a bit of a break from digital painting to finally "get it" more. I also included a nifty step by step animated gif to show you guys my process. I used Painter 6.0 to paint (awesome program).

You are doing great progress Mario, very good.
I have also found out that it helps with a break in the painting once every now and then, I guess it makes you reflects over stuff you wouldnt see when involved with the painting.
This one is very cool, why do Ninjas and samurais hold the sword like that before a fight? I saw Hero and he held the sword like that before any fight...hehe. :)

and the thing u were talking about with the samurai holding the sword kinda like that....he was probably using a technique called "battoujutsu"

Lookin great, the clothing looks awesome. But yeah SekiRyuu has it right. He looks a little more like a monk that a ninja anyways. Maybe its just the shaved head? Still keep up the good work. Oh.. >> << His hands seem kinda large thought I'd point that out.
