Well Criag Mullins, of course I remember you. I rember how you and Mark Anderson blew us all away with your ingenious cardboard car at the accd gravity race. The last sighting of you was through Chuck Roth who saw you windsurfing in San Francisco bay. I still keep in touch will the accd alumni the best I can. Glad to see you on this site. I haven't done much drawing lately and was glad to find this forum. Maybe it'll get me off my lazy butt and start drawing more. It's been all ID and 3D. Hope to get some brutal crits from you and all on This site. Please keep in touch.
hwslut: I'm posting some pathetic steps of how I worked-up the old F1 car. I simply blocked out a very rough 3D model and began to paint and smudge. |

One last post before the weekend, I always feel guilty if I don't play outside on the weekends.
Craig, I lost track of Nick afew years when he changed his e-mail...( maybe that was his intent ). Still talk to Dave M. often. Doug Frasher though has become the design hero at VOLVO. Chuck Roth left NIKE and went solo and is doing great designing hiking and snowboard boots. Stay tuned.
P.S. Craig at school was this mad genius who could pick-up anythng...surfing...tennis...in about a week. It used to make our heads explode. |

Both done in Photoshop 6 with mouse input.
There's also a bunch of speed Pen & Ink drawings on my website for anyone interested. Fun stuff!

Costume loosely based on Lady Iboshi from Princess Mononoke. Taking Flushgardens advice and layin off the gimmick brushes and textures, layer compositing tricks (color dodge etc). Just the drawing and values, Maam.
Ceenda, Most of the these things I have been doing are about 2k. The umbrella girl was 4k, no reason though. 2k seems a good compromise, as my machine is not the fastest on the block.

Steve, I would not attempt to crit what you are doing at all. If you have specific questions I bet someone or myself could try to answer. Looks great to me.
I am surprised that was a perception of me. Didn't think anyone even knew I was there. hmm. The guy I did the car with was Guy Whitla. I bet he owns Ferd now. Seems like the ID people all are doing well in a related profession. All of my illustrator cohorts are not doing art, as far as I can tell.
Oh and thanks for not mentioning, well, you know, and that too, and, um, that time in the shop, um OK:) |
