Hey all I don't know if anyone here remembers me but...I was the one making the anime DVD last year Stage1. Anyways I'm onto my new movie Nightfall and these are some of the desktops I made last night. Pretty much these will become frames in the movie...it's a collection of still s with lip synching cause I am the only artist.
Anyways though I thought I would show this here...I try to only show stuff that I thik y'all will like. Afterall this is the place that got me in to painting in photoshop: ) Anyways hope y'all like these.

anyways those are the cool ones. For the movie part...cause I'm doing it in High Def, the buildings will be 3d and the background will have more stuff in it. This is for the showing that's coming up...sort of an animatic version. Anyways gotta get backto work.
peace

thank you very much : ) For the actual movie I'm having to repaint these images twice as big so I'm really pretty new to this process. Especially compositing the 2d characters on top and making that work.

Thanks actually I'm a big fan of oversized stuff like that. This is the opening scene and in it is also a gaint moon covering the horizon so that'll be interesting: )

Thanks for the comliment, yes I did all of this. The buldings and such will be modelled in Maya so, I am both 2d, 3d and so forth which is kinda why I had to get into the matte painting thing because...the FX I just couldn't recreate in 3d. Also with the characters I drew them all in flash with the FX on them so they merge in better when I bring in the 3d. Just using flash and gradients.

hehh thanks...actually I am the only artist so the mouths will move and there will be alot of shots...but the characters bodies won't move. This is sort of a two way deal...on my own Independent it'll be what we have lovingly reffered to as Still Frame animation. 3d backgrounds, motion graphics and lots and lots of shots.
But we are seeking capitol right now to make it fully 3d. That is our real goal so...right now I'm workinig in Maya for the backgrounds and vehicles but also to get familiar with it for the feature.
If this movie isn't fully 3d then hopefully the next one. We'll see.
And concerning tutorials and such...I do have some on Dementia7.com my personal site...they're a little dated though...a little over a year ago...actually they're really dated. But those are up. I promise though at one day I'll sit down and write or draw or whatever...put all this stuff down. Between the lecturews and the conventions and the movies and God forbid I sleep...it's tough to find the time : )

Hmm, my browser tells me your page doesn't exist. It's a real pitty because your pictures seem to be really nice. Maybe the servers is down, i'll try again later.

Sorry abut that. We've been having some issues, not with us but with the Router that is held on by Time Warner cable...well actually with Verizon [I think that's who it is] the people ginvg Time Warner their bandwidth. They outsource the bandwidth all the way over to I think like Utah or something and those people have a bad router or something.
There's also a really big Game house here having the same issue. We reall, really hope it gets fixed at some point. Anyways apologies again.
