Hello
I started this one last week and kind of wanted it finished today, I know there are problems on it so dont feel afraid to point out the mistakes, maybe I have missed a few.
C&C works all the time. I wanted a more of a digital feeling this time, does it look more digital?

Hi, I'm not sure I'm one to comment, but here goes..

Lighting looks a little off.. If it's side lighting, then the right leg and right arm should be as bright as the chest.. But if it's a spot light on the chest, then the upper thigh should be lit and the inner arm should be lit..

Not sure about the anatomy - if you wanted a humanoid look, it doesn't look human, but if it's alien, then that's cool.

Um, still looks paintery to me.. Um, also not sure if you were going for something realistic 'cause the physics are kind of off considering the thing's foot is a cylinder.. He'd be a bit wobbly. Generally, if you walk, usually foot and hand are opposite in the sense if the right leg is forward, left hand should be forward.. or vice versa..

But it's an alien, right, so it's cool to break these rules. Anyway, I don't post enough to have any cred, but hope these help. It's a good start.

It looks great Smile
What I like about it is that it looks cleaner than most of your other stuff somehow.

I'm not sure what you mean with digital feeling!?
I totally love the arms and his right leg.

The black kinda takes away from the image (dodge&burn?) especially on his left leg.
The color of the eyes ... it looks out of place IMO.

And the torso ... I guess you just made some quick decisions there!?
I think it would look cooler with more realistic anatomy.

And I think Bare Bonez comments (especially on the lighting) are great.
I think the right arm is bright enough though.

yea hehe not sure what it is, human, robot, Cookie Monster...hehe.

I wanted something cleaner than my usual speedys and paintings and cleaned up every stroke, thank you for noticing AndyT.
I didnt use any dodge or burn on this one, just painted it all like that thou as you said its too much black.
The light-source should be top right but I screwed it up, the lighting looks off Bare Bonez, yea.
You can post crits whenever you want Bare Bonez, I can take critism and thanks for your comments.
Thank you there AndyT, you are right about the black.

Thank you
Matthew

Matthew, uh, that may have come out more harsh than I intended. What I meant was that if you concentrate on anatomy for a couple of weeks (or months) then you will see a *huge* difference in the quality of your work. You draw people all the time, and if you don't start drawing them correctly now you'll develop bad habits that will be hard to break.

Drew - Hey, I dont think it was harsch and I wanted crit so its cool. I know about my anatomy problems and I knew about the problems in this one but I wanted to post it anyway to get some comments about the coloring and etc.
I ususally focus on different parts in pictures nowadays, in this one it was the strokes and the coloring, in my speedys it is often lightsource training and when I do those I dont care about the anatomy. Shouldnt be an exscuse to bad anatomy but it helps the coloring and shading.

I have actually decided to go back to anatomy studies, I want to learn all the different muscles too, I hope I will make that.
I should start with that anytime soon, cause these latest months I have mainly focused on school-application-samples which were mostly reference made pictures.

thank you Drew for the comments. :)
see you in the forum
