Hello
For me it is in periods, sometimes the forum goes very fast and sometimes its very slow and today it is working pretty fast.
Maybe it depends on location, or is the Sijun stored on many different Servers?

I would go for a month of downtime if by the end of it there is an ignore feature on these forums. _________________ "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity" - Sigmund Freud |

Drunken Monkey: You mean to ignore certain members? On a purely technical note that would probably speed the forum up a little bit as the server wouldn't be pulling out certain entries. I wonder if it can be done. |

Yeah, forum software in general desperately needs an ignore feature.
I'm not sure the updates today helped much, I'm still finding the site really slow. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Sumaleth: On a forum this size, could there be a problem with Topic Notification. e.g. the speedpaint thread where the server could be sending hundreds of emails every time someone replies? |

Not sure if I like this ignore feature you guys are talking although I have been in the flaming a lot. That would mean that a lot of people is making answers and comments to someone who doesnt see them.
Wouldnt that make a lot of holes in the forum? Comments or posts hole I mean.
Edit - one more thing as ceenda mentioned, as what I think, maybe the speed-painting thread is too big? I know that some peoples browsers crash when they enter the speedy-thread.

I dont know, but from what I understand they thought they fixed it yesterday. Clearly there's still a problem somewhere. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Um, yeah. That's the point. Some people here have nothing useful or constructive to say, so it's a waste of time to get half way through what they're babbling about before you figure out it wasn't worth the time. Much like this comment. |

We are working to correct the response time of the forums. Currently the forums are using more outbound bandwidth then we have access to which causes a number of problems. We don't expect to have the bandwidth corrected for at least a week.
I'll be trying to minimize the impact of bandwidth problems and there may be small outages from time to time over the next few weeks These will hopefully be infrequent and only last a short period of time.

Hmm... strange. Except from today I never noticed the forum to be slow. At least not slower than other forums.
Regarding the ignore feature I think I could only live with that if one can see when he get ignored. I wouldnt bother posting if I dont know whether someone actually pays attention to my posts or not. |

Max - yea hehe you saw that, I thought I wasnt going to mention any names.
Drew - Well I guess everybody in this forum would ignore me then, too bad, everything I have done is this forum seems to be wrong all the time.
If I make an over-paint someone is complaining and if I post an answer and it is too short I am making it wrong.
I though we went to this forum to exchange ideas and also having fun in the progress but maybe I am wrong, or?
Instead people are making fun of me and think I am childish and dont have anything to say, what is so constructive about your comment?
One more thing, if this turns out in flaming and I hope it wont I am out of this thread.
dr.bang - I am starting to love your humour, the grandpa thing you said made me laugh out loud. :)

Instead of ignoring, I'd rather just swoop right past something if it's just a ramble. If you want to avoid a user, why not just stop reading his/her posts? _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |

I disagree.
My capacity to ignore - as a human being is at the limit. Some of these people are pretty much 2-3 times in every thread (and sometimes a lot more) with an annoying signature attached to each of the pointless posts. I think its a nice convinience to turn them off. _________________ "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity" - Sigmund Freud |
