i'm blown away by some of the work in this thread:)

bored, i went through the old DVD collection last night (as you do) and watched An American Werewolf in London. What an amazing film that is; incredible mood (especially the beginning), great tension and buildup, some absolutely astounding makeup/transformation by Rick Baker, and even some really great comic relief from the Doctor and Detectives! Anyway, was inspired so did some sketching from some screen grabs:

Great work. Very nice contrast visual myriad.
Elliot you have a very interesting style.
Craig you seem to give up in all the right moments.

Perhaps I pushed the edge on this being a "speed" painting. Not that it shows. I think it actually turned out semi-Ok. I'd love any suggestions if you got 'em.

Speed painting threads are probably the only thing that get better with every sequel.

Spooge Demon, your painting colours (a woman from backside) reminds Manes, a great french "impressionist"..

My first speedpainting, one hour. Thanks Drew and Flushgarden for advice in my period of angst Wink I really enjoyed painting this way, and I'm definitely going to stick at it Smile

A ton of inspiring work in this thread.

It's amazing how I can tell which ones are Craig's paintings just by that outstanding color of red he uses. I don't think that anyone else is gutsy enough to do it.

A little over an hour I think:
