hey... i used to post here a lot last year. i doubt anyone remembers me... anyways, i've been lurking around here for a while, but i've been unable to post any images cause my scanner was busted. well, i got a new scanner, so i figured i'd post some of the stuff i've been doing lately.
for the past few weeks, i've been really into these tria markers. i got a bunch of em for my birthday a year ago, but i never really used them till just recently. heres a few of my favorite drawings i've done in the past few weeks. i'll post more of them later, but i don't want to dump too many right now cause it'll take too long to load.
the colors are kinda washed out because of my scanner... i'll have to mess with them later. they're a lot brighter on paper... oh well.
heres one of the first ones i did
just some charactor design for fun
another of the same monster from above...
and my most recent (i've been playing too much zelda lately )
one more for good measure... this was actually my first (successful) marker drawing
any feedback would be appretaited.... and don't be easy on me- i've gotten tons of compliments on these from friends/classmates/relatives... but i want a real, honest opinion on them from other artists, like you guys. what do ya think? |

i think youve got an awesome style....well..to be honest except for that second to last one the clouds were the only thing that bothered me...your ability to create original characters is amazing though...i gotta get me some of them markers!....
it seems like you need some anatomical practice judging from the way you do your hands and limbs and such ...i mean i know theyre characters but even cartoons have "correct anatomy"....you're really good at faces though...i think you should study animal anatomy more than anything cuz your pieces seem to resemble that of 'lions and tigers and bears'....
and i know what you mean about asking friends and family for critiques...all you ever get is "thats kool" or "you're going places"....anyway...keep at it
my favorite's the last one by the way :] _________________ www.andresguzman.com

The clouds in the second last pic doesn't bother me at all. In a matter of fact that is my favorite picture of the bunch. I too see some body parts that could be improved with further knowing of anatomy. Like the gorillas lower body and legs in the second pic. I agree with Insider, your characters are amazing!
The Insider, markers are great. They just are too goddamn expensive! |
