Recently I've been trying to bring out my Japanese half more in my work, and this is the result.
It's also the first picture I've done entirely digitally...
... and I've just put up my new website, so check that out at www.gezfry.com

Wow, gorgeous colours and linework and great intriguing subject. Am v. impressed.
One little..the smoking guy looks just a bit like he's started to topple backwards off that ledge. Otherwise fantastic
Oo and I have to add -- your website is an utter joy to navigate. Very well designed, one of the sleekest online portfolios I've seen. |

nice picture~ ^^ great web design too. but it doesn't look like something on the jap side to me. ^^;
and your done entirely digitally means even the lineart was done in com? very well done i must say, but just in my opinion the folds for her top doesn't seem very right to me in some way.. =X
wonderful piece however. |

Eelco - thanks! glad you liked the site too.
SolarC - cheers
coraline - Hmm. Yeah, I guess it's more of a hybrid of East and West than a straight Japanese style pic. The lineart was done on the computer. Yeah, I see what you mean about the folds - I'll work on that... |

Not to be an asshole, that's not my intent - Just asking:
What is the concept behind this piece?
I like it and I'd like to know more about it. |

NewSpecies - thanks!
Giant Hamster - Thanks. The concept? It's pretty much what you see, and to be honest I'd rather not explain it, but since you asked... The girl and her mates are in a position of danger, but they don't care, and in fact the girl seems to be almost attracted to the drop.
phobos - thanks
DarkVVulf - thank blah blah you |

I dont like explaining pictures either... I prefer to hear what other people read into them, far more interesting. I'm curious as to what is on her head though. Goggles? Bandana? Hehe, I love her outfit and the colour choice for the whole piece. It really is a fantastic pic. It makes me want to try drawing a city skyscape.
I also really like the design of your website but it doesn't work in the version of opera that I'm running. Opera 6.0. Yeah, it's old but I'm running it. The mouse overs on the front page dont appear and in the gallery when I click on the thumbnails a window opens but the full images dont load. All I get is a 'not found on server' message. It runs fine on explorer and I see that everything is real purty. I just thought I'd tell you. I checked opera 7 and it works fine with it too... hmmmm... you should maybe put a little message somewhere saying what it's best viewed on.
Again about the picture, I'm curious as to how long it took to create, from concept to finished artwork? _________________ I wracked my brain and this was all I could come up with. |
