Okay, most of you have seen my Mood1 piece. But, you see, that piece was never really finished--I had planned more for it, but somehow dropped the idea. Now, I'm going back to rework the original idea back in. BUT, I don't know if I should just leave it as it is.
So, here's a rough draft of the new idea--it's totally UNFINISHED, and very rough. Just sketched in to get the overall feel.
Let me know if I should just leave it like it was, or keep going with this new idea.
New idea
Old version

Nothing for bad Luna,
but i like the old-version lill better than new, it doesn't seen so overloaded, imho, and i have the most feeling on watching it. But maybe the finished new-work would see much better than in actualy scetch. Try it out.

I'm missing the "I want her phone number" button. Very secksy, either way! The background in your new version could be a lill more defined tho. _________________

i dont understand this trend to stick big wings on backs of chicks, but hey.. its your drawing..
i liked the other one, when she's just a plain girl, no wings or stuff. but im sure you can make the new version look awesome too..
cheers! |

eyalyab: hahaha my sentiments exactly
;p i think its wonderful portrait...
the wings thing... don't wuite like it. adding tatoos and such only make her feel more of a punk-witch to me ( to -me- )
give her long pointy ears and a different dress perhaps! then im sure it'll look great! |

I personally like that "fantasy Genre" it gives off the illusion of what if? What if? Man WHAT IF THERE WERE HOT GIRLS FLYIN AROUND!!" jj lol

i'm a fan of fantasy etc although i have to say the idea is slightly unoriginal... i LOVE wings n stuff but it seems a bit cliche now. my personal opinion is its fine as it is, move onto making something new, OR i repeat OR (......) tweak the new design to something a little different to tattoos/runic/wings. i mean keep them all in there by all means, just maybe try out something more diverse with the theme, like wings made partly of something else, looking egyptian etc etc etc... yes lame idea of mine but you get the jyst:D. i must say i'm damn well impressed with the realism of her face and hair..... that looks like it took a long time and well worth it.
anyway thats my two cents.... or more _________________

I'd have to go with the old one. It puts the focus on the girl rather than all the things surrounding her. Question is do you want to make it a picture of a girl or a picture of some wings? (I know that's an exaggeration, but hopefully you catch my drift)
I know you said it's not finished, but if I could just give you some constructive criticism I'd say that the girl's pinky looks a bit bent and a tiny bit unreal and the girl's breast seem missing some depth.
Other than that, I would say you've done an amazing job. _________________ It's not cheating if you put peanut butter on your genitals and let your dog lick it! It's not... IT'S YOUR DOG!! |

I say the new one. Its mad cool and i really like the tatoos. Now, i know its unfinished, but i think i would like it better if those grooves in the bg were a bit less dark. It looks a little confusing. I think it would look better, and add a lot more emphasy on the girl, if the bg's designs were lighter and less, uhh, how would i say..."there." I dont know how much sense that made but i hope u understand what im talking about. And u no, all u gotta do is save the original and the new one so u have both. But i think the new one is awesome and i just cant wait to see it finished. _________________ -Chase |

Excellent feedback everyone!
Well, looks like I'll hold off on the new idea. I knew the whole fantasy stuff is a bit played out these days, but I didn't really know how people who actually are into sci-fi/fantasy in general felt. The whole sword/wing thing sure wasn't clichd when I was younger... How times have changed! I blame it on Brom and the others working in that "dark" style! |

Yeah Luna, keep the old one. It has style. The new one is 'just another fantasy drawing', even though it is very well rendered, hehe.
Jeez how old are you man? How about Frazetta and covers for Heavy Metal for chicks with wings and such? How was the Heavy Metal covers way back when they first started? And when was that exactly, sometime in the seventies?

Hey Lunatique, just interested. When you created the original sketch, did you use a photo to start with. Im asking mainly because im looking at the way the hair flows and it seems to be really natural. Love the pic, keep it up. |

I think the strength of the original drawing carries the possible fantasy aspect above the cliche that everyone expects. Sure, it's not the most original idea, but that face and that hair do a good job of setting her apart from the neverending line of plain boring busty-fantasy-girls.
I say do what you want. Either one looks good. |
