Well, I'm new here. I started painting daily self portraits for another forum a few days ago, and thought I'd post them here, too, since this is the thread that really inspired me. I'm still just learning, though, so any suggestions are most welcome. All done in Photoshop 7.

Thanks a bunch Chiani! Your paintings are trully inspirational! Love the use of yellow in the last one!

the first looks pretty kick ass, clopy. For acuracy, remember your eyes are generally 1/2 down the head, pupils match up with corners of mouth, for the nose, start with it as a kinda flat bottom (no nostrals), then as your defining things you can go back and fill them in.

tried to get fun, ended up twitching!

hey - clopy looks good betting better!! some perspective issues on the first nose

henkrygg - looks solid - try to look up some pencil techniques, it''ll give your drawing more punch, that and a darker range of values for the core.

mines comic.

Not another 'selfportrait', not for selfportrait's sake, but for my art project, I'm doing heads seen from below and I'm the only person I can persuede to approve of my photographing.

Mind you, I don't think the examiners are going to accept something done on a computer, or atleast not treat as something which counts for anything ..

Something weird.

Basically a color experiment. I wanted to try something using high opacity brushes and changing mainly only the color hue while keeping the value relatively constant. It's... different, anyway.

nice clopy - try for the next one B&W or monocrome, and try to get things as big and simple as you can.

fred - great form on that last one!

long time ~ 2 hours :

Farley: Thanks a bunch for the encouragement and advice. It helps. =) I like the mood and colors of your last one.

I'm away from my tablet for the weekend, so this one's in charcoal. That was fun. It'd been a while since I'd worked with charcoal. Although my digital camera seems to have taken some of the 'oomph' out of it.

Tried to do something for my soon-to-be-opened homepage, but I'm not sure about it anymore... I like the idea though =)
