Beautiful, Love the reflections / gloss. Looks odd though, first time i've ever seen anyone draw / paint an apple that way up! |

Still life, I believe.
Cool apples btw. They could do with some extra hues and textures though because they look a little too perfect to be real fruit. _________________ I wracked my brain and this was all I could come up with. |

Done with (real pastel-pencils, or whatever they are called.

yep matthew your right.
I think still life hlps you practice the way you look at objects and observe them. so its good practice to.

Thank you for the answer merlyns, of course I had to try this out. :)
This is some stuff that lies on top of my scanner, some papers and Axe and a pear in front of the axe.
A speed observation cause I havn�t painted that much this weekend, I have had my birthday yesterday so now I am 26 years old...huuuu.

Matthew: Still-life is something not alive. It is you the artist alive. So you can paint that thing. The thing stay still over there. They Not move to anywhere when you are painting them. After you paint them you can eat them. But don't eat the flower though.

You know of Euan Uglow's work?
Don't know if these images are working. Hard to tell from these pictures of his but his paiting style shares the generalising, faceted sorta treatement. hot stuff Chia Ni.
