Please, please tell me that there is an easy fix for this:

Brush controls -> Shape Dynamics -> Angle Jitter. If I turn this on, and work for a while, Photoshop will suddenly hang, stop responding, and I have to force the program to end.

I work in XP, PS 7.01, Wacom Intuos2. I have this problem on two separate hardware setups. Has anyone heard about this / can recommend fixes?

got any more information : how long b4 photoshop freezes, size of image - how much RAM u have etc?

i can't duplicate this problem because i have an old wacom without the tilt feature Sad

Thanks for the bump, B0b. I've got 1 gig ram on both machines, plenty available in most crashing situations. Size of image varies. It might take 5 minutes, might take 30 minutes. It is only when using Angle Jitter that it crashes. This happens, as far as I can tell, no matter what the physical and environmental setup I use.

Also, you don't have to use tilt, set Angle Jitter to "Direction", for instance. I thought it might be a tilting error, but "Direction" only turns the brush in an angle proportional to the stroke's current direction. Has anybody ever had a crash when using a brush with Angle Jitter turned on?

are you on the l8st Wacom Drivers? have u emailed wacom tech support with the problem?

is that angle jitter only? or do u have any of the other features on?

the only time ps crashes for me is when I have not enough free space on the first scratch disk, sometimes 600MB even is not enough.

Sorry to be late, busy busy

Bob, all drivers are new, PS is updated. I haven't mailed Wacom, because the way I figure, it shouldn't be a Wac problem. The Angle Jitter feature when set to "Direction" does not need any unusual input from the tablet AFAIK. I thought it was a tilt problem at first, but no more. Maybe it's my PS version that's gotten a scratch, I dunno. I have other features on at the same time, but can't see that making a problem in tandem with Angle Jitter. No other features make PS crash.

oDD: Have you tried switching scratch disks? Also, I'd do a full scan of the drive to see if there are any bad sectors. I just found a 4 GB bad area on one of my RAID disks. Nothing cozy about that, especially on a Striping Array. No more double speed for me for the moment...

Hehe, I had already tried the Adobe "forum", as well as the Wacom places when I tried here. No help, no understand. It seems it's a problem unique to me and my gear. Maybe I'll just have to acquire another copy of Photoshop and see if my cd is toast or something.
