Mac is going to die just like Amiga and Atari did, its just a matter of time...

They were going out of business a few years back.

But then this English designer reinvented the look of the mac (to how you see them today) and they made some other big changes and the fortunes of the company have been completely reversed. They are doing very well.

doing so well that next year they won't have any new CPU's, they'll be building the last of their Mac from the CPU stockpiles... Motarolla are pulling out of the PowerCPU market because they're not making enough profit from it..

That could explain why he isn't the actual president.

If that were true then i'll be a RICH man by now. I'll spend all the money on advertisement for my invention.

Its good because:
- Good workout.
- Lower sex crimes.
- Slower population birth rate.
- Increase profits for paper industries.

Vote for me Dr. Bang for 2004. I've invented the masturbation.

The truth is that Microsoft, Bill Gates, invested a couple of millions into Apple. Otherwise they were as good as die.... Rolling Eyes

Read my linked post carefully. I never claimed that MS didn't invest in Apple. Well, MS calls it investing; the rest of the world calls it extortion.

[cut and pasted relevent bits for the lazy]
Quote:

Here's where I think we seriously deviate: Microsoft's extortion of Apple. That $150 million didn't lay the groundwork for the Imac. I disagree that it "allowed" Apple to "stay afloat" a little longer. While it's true Apple was struggling at that point, the $150 million was actually unneeded and unwanted. The cash was layed out to purchase non-voting shares of Apple stock, which turned out to be an excellent investment for Microsoft. Withholding development on their Office Suite to leverage the buyout was illegal. Microsoft was essentially able to force Apple to sell a large part of itself at cut-rate prices as well as bundle their competition's browser! This is hardly the "magnamimous gift" to their friendly rival that Microsoft played it off as. My favorite rumor was that Microsoft was propping up Apple because if they went out of business then they'd surely be labled a monopoly. Thankfully, most of those shares were later repurchased by Apple, but at greatly inflated prices. Net result: the so-called "cash infusion" actually cost Apple huge profits. The only real winner here was Steve Jobs, who can honestly claim the moral high ground in this one. He somehow managed to spin this as a positive step for the company and keep a smile on his face while being ass raped by Bill Gates. Steve literally cut off a limb to save the body so that Mac users could open their PC MSWord files from work. How's that for dedication to your market's interests?

The whole sorrid affair is being investigated. I hear there are memos and testimony from former Microsoft employees, so Apple's case is fairly airtight. But even a successful judgement would scarcely stun the unstoppable cluster-fuck juggernaut that is Microsoft.

I wonder if all this anti ms propaganda comes from the envy some people may have of its success.

(I'm not talking about your post Pat, just in case)

Listen, I buy MS products (and own a PC) so it isn't as if I have some "no Microsoft product will darken my doorstep" attitude, but come on. Microsoft has a reputation from all sides for not doing everything according to Hoyle. Sometimes, when there's smoke, there's fire.
