Hi,

when I try to start Painter CLassic I got this error-msg:
"not enough memory to run painter"-
but I have 1Gig Ram!
I have read, that some ppl with newer PCs have that problem, too.
Running under Windows XP Professionel, SP1
Hm, someone thought, the problem might be the Nvidia drivers, but a change didnt solve the problem.

Btw- Painter 7 runs fine, no problems, but I cannot get the look of the Simple Water Colors from Classic into Painter 7...

Any tips?

well Painter Classic will not run with 1 gig of Ram. Painter 7 fixed this windows problem.
You can limit the size of your page file in windows to get it to open.
check out these links
setting your page file
http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/windowstips/story/0,24330,3371764,00.html

here is corel's answer from their data base.
http://kb.corel.com/kbdocs/UNKNOWN/Painter55Mac/Painter55Mac_206451.htm

This will limit the amount of ram to 512 meg.
So that you can use Painter classic 1 and watercolors of coarse.

I have 1.5 gigs of ram, should be more than enough,
