Let's see...
1) need to finish the wings
2) add a background (probably a nice cloudscape)
3) cleanup the details
Any other suggestions:?:

Add the background before you finish colouring the dragon. The background will affect the colours you need to use on the creature itself, so try to paint the whole painting rather than finish one section and move onto another section, etc.

Wow! Nice drake. I like the body and the head.
I would do the wings a little bit different though...

Periadam - I took your advice and finished the background last night first... since then, I've also decided to adjust a lot of the highlighting on the body, so that it's more backlit than before.
Andy`Ba - These aren't the finished wings... The plan is to have them glow with a lot of backlight, add way more reds to the skin, tear the edges a bit, and add a suggestion of viens. Glad you like what's going on so far, thanks! Very Happy

4nton - I was talking more about wing design. I think that too many "waves" on the wing is a little confusing. It's like adding details to hide the flawed design. I would make the wing with 5-7 fingers only - if you understand what I mean.

thats cool, I like the style. I think the background will determine what lighting touch ups it needs. Right now it lookspretty cool
