i used photoshop 6 and a wacom volito ..

very nice .. i like the shadowns and lights ..
.... but i think the face can be better

Not sure exactly what's wrong with the face, it all looks great to me. I think you nailed it. What bothers me is the ear, which looks very unfinished. Did you use photo ref?

very smooth idea, i like the black/white style, with high contrast parts, but it looks a bit blurry, maybe it wouldnt show if you make the pic a tad smaller?
