I really like that...So this is a portrait of YOU right? I have to use this program to do an animation for a school project all year long, I barely know how to model and I've resorted to making an abstract piece because of that. I am impressed with your model. Good work! |

Would like to see a new "selfportrt" of yours. This is by far old ... very old for a new single thread ... long time ago since i saw it at gfxartist.com.
Still an interesting idea - id like to read something more about it! About how you came up with this idea or something. _________________ Lars Gtze

You were right about the age of the image. It was completed in September or October of 2002 but I was working with it up to a few weeks ago. The image is one of a hundred that was accepted to be part of the 2003 IDAA exhibit http://www.internationaldigitalart.com/IDAA/2003.html and I guess that I really hadn't given any thought to the age of the image.
The idea for Exposed came to me while I sat as a juror on a murder trial last summer; A trial that lasted seven months. I'd already created the model last year and it is based on my own physique (I was a competetive bodybuilder up until a few years ago). The model was abandoned for months until the idea for Exposed came to me. During the trial I'd also slipped into middle age and everything that I thought I knew disappeared. If you look at the muscular torso and the holes that pass through it, as well as the lack of expression in the eyes, you might begin to get a sense of what I was feeling at the time.
In any case that's roughly how the idea came about for Exposed; my self portrait.
Very best,
