Lets hear some bands or singers from different countries. Maybe a short description and songs to go with it.
Some of mine:
Fettes Brot - german hip-hop group, very unique and entertaining (Jein, Hallo hip-hop,Friedhof der nuscheltiere,Nordisch by nature)
DJ Thomilla - german dj - i know nothing about him (Der beat flippt, Get up)
Kino - russian rock group of 80-90's - singer Viktor Tsoy died in accident (Gruppa krovi, Hochu peremen, Posledniy Geroy)
Igor Talkov - russian singer of 80's with serious political and life lyrics - he was killed (Rossiya, Pamyati Viktora Tsoya)
Kompressor - shouldn't be here, but it's whack - http://www.kompressormusic.com (K is for Kompressor, Do not talk to strangers) |

Lazy Mother Fuckaz (LMF)- chinese hip hop...awesome stuff...i love it! (cant find it here though for obvious reasons)
28 Days- a pretty good aussie punk/ska sort of band...
Control Machete- if you arent listening to this then you are totally missing out...i suggest a song called "si senor" to get you hooked to this hip hop.
aphex twin - great ambiant works... |

Ryuichi Sakamoto- Godfather of electronic music. Talented composer that can go from experiemental industrial music to classical opera in the same song.
Yellow MAgic Orchestra- Sakamoto was a member of this synth band. They were the pioneers of electronic music, along with Kraftwerk, Yello, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno..etc.
Dou wei-- Ex-drummer of one of China's best rock group, Black Panther. His solo work is ethereal and dark.
Transcendentals-- Mixture of traditonal Turkish music and modern electronica.
I love music from the U.K., but that's hardly considered world music. |

I dunno about all other music in the world, but Heino rulez them all!
I imagined a beergarten with slight breese and that music playing - perfect match. |

Heh heh. I knew I would not need to describe the great Heino for one with such discerning tastes as you.

Maceface:
You said 28 days, was that back in the old days when they played cool punk stuff or the shit remixed industry influenced crap that 13yo listen to now. Kid indestructable is the only good album, i suggest you buy it, other-wise Rip it up, sucks. Sorry i get all emotional when i here about 28 days they, betrayed me!
Millencolin: sweedish Skate punk band, they rock.
WIZO: German punk band
Dropcick Murphy's: Irish punk band
Identity Theaft: Auzzie hardcore
And much more |

I'm glad to hear that maceface, i went to see them 2 years ago, with a band called Game over (highly recomended) and @8 days were sick, they had a good mosh pit, but I went to see some bands the other night and 28 days shows up, along with an onterage of 13-17yo and i just walked out. |

Don't know if anyone has heard of a Canadian band called The Dears, I caught their show last week. This is their website, I thought they have better description of the band than I can provide. |

The Pillows (Japan) - great musicians, I especially like their instrumentals. (Carnival, Stalker, Sleepy Head)
Cryptopsy (France) - They have some really killer (literally) songs. (Voice of Unreason)
Darkane (Sweden) - Not a big fan of the new singer, but their old stuff is great. (Rusted Angel, Frenetic Visions)
Dark Tranquillity (Sweden) - Probably my favorite band. These guys RAWK! \m/ \m/ (Alone; Away, Delight, Away; Rundown; Emptier Still)
In Flames (Sweden) - Another of my faves. (Goliaths Disarm Their Davids, Gyroscope, Bullet Ride)
Hypocrisy (Sweden) - As you can see, I love Swedish metal. lol (Apocalypse, 'Til the End, F*ck U) |

-Anggun (but only the songs, which are in French, not the English ones...): her music is pop, I suppose, but it has a certain kind of ethnic influence in it
-Faye Wong: Chinese pop
-YUP: Finnish rock with the right kind of attitude - I really ike their lyrics.. Vivid language
-Skunk Anansie: well, everyone knows this band, right? *heh* |
