Here are a few images from a recent series of mine that simulates turn of the century Daguerreotypes. The images are paintings, some done traditionally (oils or acrylics), some painted entirely digitally, all enhanced digitally in some form or another.
I am posting them to this forum because I have recently been thinking about adding color to a select few. I stress that I do not wish to "colorize" the images but to simply add color in a way that will enhance their impact.
I ask you, my fellow artists, to help with suggestions. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time. |

Well I really like them, but I'm thinking it might be a bit late in the day to be adding colour - to my eye, they look like finished pieces, to which adding any colour would mean a reworking from the ground up. Plus if you ask me they don't really need colour. So, there you go, a reply that didn't aid you in your request in the slightest... |

I can't agree enough... leave them the way they are!
Your style is unique and beautiful! I hope to see lots more in the future! |

Without even looking at what you wrote on... I just looked at the pics and I thought they were pretty dramatic as is... Sometimes less color is better, especially what you have here. Adding color would spoil the mood in some of them and wouldn't give it that dramatic of a feel or it would lessen the impact it had.
GOOD JOB though on all these pics here. Lovem _________________ Meep meep |

Thanks for the comments.
I am picking up a subtle vibe not to add color to any of the images.
OK. For now I will leave them as is. I honestly did not expect people to feel as strongly towards leaving them untouched.
Fortunately, I have been able to satisfy my need to work in color in the speed painting threads so, for now, all is well.
Once again, thanks for your time and comments.
Best,
