Greetings folks,
Thiese are my midterm pieces for my entertainment design class over at Art Center. If anyone has any feedback I would love to hear it (especially constructive criticism). My apologies to those who have seen them in progress, but none of them are exactly as origionally posted. Enjoy
- Ari

Nice layout overall. But I have some critiques.. (constructive, of course )
The first pic... I think the ripples is not very convincing unless the airplane is actually just a tiny remote-controlled model, if you get my meaning. The airplane itself is quite nice.
the second... I find the middle top part of the picture very strange as though as if something is stretching it.
the third... maybe some stronger highlights are needed on the models where they are reflected by the light, especially the objects on the far left.
the fourth.. I think I see depth problems here... the holes further at the background should be lighter (as the background is to the foreground) than the ones nearer to us..
The fifth.. nice alien... I'm amazed it can stand well even though it got its feet stuck in two orange plastic cups.. haw haw..
the last one seems peculiar to me.. almost like an alien horizon...but the yellow colour seems to flat to me... maybe each of them should have different colour variation to show an illusion of distance. |

not only those pictures are well done, some of them emit some kind of hypnotic energy that makes you look at the picture, like its some kind of strange recurring dream |

great job on all of them, but Some things seems a bit weird:
for the first picture, other than the ripples that jeromoo pointed out, is it just me or is the plane a bit distorted? maybe it's my moniter. But from here, the body of the plane(not including the wings) seems to be going in a different direction. Awsome work on the details tho.
thrid picture...this is truely an awsome piece, my fav of all of them
last one...agree with jeromoo. It's a bit flat. Maybe you should add some darker and lighter spots on the plants. It seems the light source is directly penetrating every leaf.
awsome work
keep up the good work |

William: Thank you very much for the critiacla feedback. In regards to the plane in the first image. Don't know what to say. I ploted the perspective pretty meticulusly, but of coarse there still could be problems. Maybe I have convergence issues. Not sure. Third pic: thank you very much. That lighting scheme really was difficult for me to figure out plust it makes it really hard to see the designs of the characters, But I like th e emotion that that ligghting scheme produces, so what can you do?
scr: thank you. You see that's my trick...er.. the whole.. recurring dream thing... uh. yeah.
jeromoo: thanks for the criticism. That kind of critique hurts so good. I agree whith everything except about the "orange cups" actually there are specific design cconsiderations that led to that decision. By the way the work on your website looks really professional. Very nice.
zap.brL: thank you very much, sir.
