i've got this web design class at school where i'm using photoshop elements. i usually just cut up images in slices using guides, but for whatever reason the version we've got at school doesn't have that capability (as far as i can tell its pretty much the same as photoshop 6 or so, minus a few minor things and the guide tool). does anyone know if there's just a different way to do it, or failing that, a different program i could use for this? using only selections in ps is sort of a pain. its very possible that i'm just dumb however, because even though i looked for an answer i didnt have much time and i'm running on little sleep lately. |

In the bad old days everyone used little scribbled numbers on bits of paper and the selection tool. Try using guides, then use them so you know where to select. Macromedia Fireworks is a program targeted to this sort of process, check it out. |

ah sweet, this machine has fireworks. i actually still use scribbles on paper too, just having guides makes it go way faster. i used to use just selections before that but i always screwed it up by one pixel or something. thanks for the help, ian. |
