Man, your style is incredible!
These special lines give the pose and the whole character a great emotion!

you seem to have a very good grasp of suggesting forms with a minimal of lines, I don't have to work hard to read the bulk mass of your drawing. You want to take it further, as I see it, it is pretty much only a matter of interpolation of your current style, it is nice and fresh, I would love to see you keep it as well as taking it further. |

Great work, I always enjoy this quick style of sketches.
I would like to see it taken further aswell, how about rather than rendering it which would be the obvious step, playing with solid black shadows to create a balanced ink style, I think that would compliment your style well. |

Hey Piter,
doesn't have to be any specific lighting or direction, whatever you feel comfortable with I think. The main focus for me would be getting a good balance of bw whilst getting realism in your shadows/light.
Here's a quick ink over on how I personally would start to approach it, hope it's of some use.

Hey Piter, few questions if i may?
before i begin i just want to say that your style is amazing and i love the simplicity of your lines. My questions are 1. what material do you use do draw in? Could this be all in Photoshop? or straight ink on paper? If done with pens what kind of pens or pencils do you use? 2. who inspires you? what's your final goal for your art? _________________ The strength of your skills magnifies with every minute of practice |

cos:
thanks for giving me some guidance with the shading. i probably won't do any more with this particular drawing because i don't want to ruin it, but i will try to incorporate a more finished dark/light pattern in future drawings.

mr.manga:
yes, i did gigi locke. and thanks.
klash.jr:
thanks
1)
a while ago i was experiencing something like artist's block, which made it difficult to even draw a single line. so i tried to make it easier for myself by buying the cheapest materials possible (i had a hangup about ruining good paper/materials). i ended up with 1) a pad of 12"x18" cartidge paper (100 sheets for $3!), and 2) a letraset pantone black-t marker. and that's mostly what i've been using ever since (this was a year ago).
most of my drawings are sketched out first on 8"x11" before i use a comparative measuring technique with a knitting needle to englarge and transer it to said cartridge paper. that's when i go over the pencil lines with marker. if i make a mistake, i slap another piece of paper on top and go at it again.
2)
i get inspiration from the following artists (in roughly chronological order from highschool):
h.r. giger, michael whelan, brom, harold speed, j.a.d. ingres, mike mignola, andrew loomis, phil hale, rick berry, richard schmid, frank frazetta, feng zhu, doug chiang, sam liu, syd mead and stanley kubrick
there are a ton of other minor influences, and i've probably forgotten someone i really like. i credit studying guys like ingres and speed for significantly improving my linework.
i have thought of a few possibilities for careers in art, the top 3 being: illustrator, concept artist, and penciller/inker for comics. but really my main goal is to just try to make kickass art (as kickass as i can manage anyway). it is much more important than money.
at the moment, i think i'm about 2-3 years away from where i want to be when i break in professionally.
hope that helps, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask them.
