funny how you read all these threads and finally it happens to you Smile

ok. so photoshop locks up when it says 'initializing menus' on the startup screen, then whenever i try moving the window around, when another window overlaps the screen.. but not when i open an image. anyone ever had a similar situation?

i've got a speedy computer with 785mb memory, geforce3. etc. never had problems with photoshop before.

nevermind.. got an update and fixed a background app that was causing problems.
