i was watching the maya video, and the music really caught me. well, im not really familiar with many genres of music, if anyone can tell me what kind this is and direct me to some other songs similar in style. its like orchestra but more...anyway recommend me some music of this type Smile

It's really just a hybrid of orchestral and electronica.

There was a time when house/trance music played around with having orchestral elements in it, and they were called epic house or orchestral house, but the degree of the orchestral elements for those were far less compared to the music in the Maya reel.

In recent years, film score composers have combined a lot of electronica into their orchestral compositions. I'm not sure if that movement has been dubbed a name.

Anyone?

If you like that kind of stuff you should check out E.S. Posthumus. It's along the same lines.

They use it in movie trailers all over the place. I think the last trailer to use it was the Minority Report.

It's Just Symphonic Electronic(a), Soundtrack, Filmscore, or Orchestral Electronic(a).

I call most of it lazy artists. "Wow, If I take Vivaldi, and then put a James Brown drumloop I downloaded off the internet over it in ACIDloops I could make millions!" I like it when They put a lot of effort into it further than a beat over Wagner. But, that stuff is fun to make; so if you have a favorite classical piece, gimme a title, and I'll drop some funky shit over it...and we'll see if anything good happens. =P
