Hi, to those who know me, this is my second attempt at digital illustration. AndyT, web1000 cannot be used to post images here (I've tried). Does anyone know if Telstra website hosting allows image hosting?

Can anyone explain to me what are the differences or advantages of Painter Classic, painter 7, photoshop 6 and other softwares. And which is the best to date? Thank you for your time!

(just to see if the image hosting works)

I think the colors are a bit too saturated.
I know his right arm is supposed to look foreshortened ... but I think it looks dwarfish in a way.

And btw ... I think you should do a search ... Photoshop and Painter has been discussed sooo many times!

Okay.. how come of all a sudden the image hosting from web1000 works?!!!
Anyway, now that it works, I'm feeling a bit glad... (send me a message if the image doesn't appear as its supposed to)

Yeah, I think I have a problem with 'illusion' of the foreshortened right hand.... does anyone know how to fix this? AndyT, do you mean that I put too much colours on the picture or the colours are too bright/ strong?

Okay, I will start reviewing through all past discussions for the painter, photoshop question... so rest of you can just ignore my last question. Smile

When I was working on the picture, two things come to mind... Final Fantasy X and Treasure Planet.. keke

Maybe I'm wrong. Now that I look at it again it doesn't look so disturbing. But I didn't mean too many colors. Too strong/bright is closer.
I think now that the way the water seems to glow like a strong light source is kinda weird. Maybe somebody else can help. I'm not sure any more Confused

Maybe the eyes are drawn to the sky too much?

Btw I think composition, pose and face are great.

can anyone tell me if my image hosting is working??
It seems that the link only work when you refresh the page a few times! and the image on this forumpage will not show up until you have access the image on the URL beforehand..

what's wrong with web1000?!!! arghhh

Arghhhhhhhhhhh. No wonder nobody posted anything!!! I thought I was very unpopular here Embarassed

I'll have to fix the image hosting problem first before I can continue posting... *sigh*

[EDIT] Hey, I checked back and the image works again... What's wrong with web1000?????? maybe its a lycantroph and will only work when there's a full moon!!

I fail to see the reasoning behind it all.. help i'm going mad, not from bad painting but bad image hosting!! So help me! I don't know if my image is still working or not... SolarC.. can you see it this time? its supposed to appear on this screen.... Sad

[Last EDIT] my friend just helped me solved the URL link problem, so you can see it now (hopefully)
and I hope the image works right... so I really need a few people to post messages to let me know that the image hosting I'm using is working fine now

Yes, it works fine now! Nice pic. =) As a small crit I think the hands would look better if they showed little more bone and the fingers are quite fat, he wouldn't be able to pick his nose. Wink
