great work everyone!
a true feast for the eyes...

here's my first real step (besides some school projects when no one told us anything about the way color works etc...) into acrylics.
i never worked with oils and hated watercolor things in school Smile

it's loosely based on impressions i had from a magazine about gothic fashion.

Wheeee traditional stuff! Well then, I'll show one of the ones that I did for a class assignment. 18x24, oils, and many apologies for the really bad photograph, it is much brighter and more colourful in person.

Wow, I love that one Gothic Gerbil! The sky looks so beautiful, and the mouse rocks too. I always love to try and and capture the "glow" of a night sky.

Wow ! I love seeing traditional art. Digital is great, but nothing, it seems, replaces the tactile feel of a good traditional media piece.

That said, here are a couple of my humble submissions.

The first is a piece done using my first love, graphite pencil on illustration board.

The second is a value study done in burnt umber washes of oil paint on canvas.

Best,
Matthew Goodsell

Keep posting in this thread I love this stuff !

A watercolor from life-drawing:

There are some truly amazing artists here.

I especially liked C's posts.
MZA, the painting of the view out of your window is great.
