Hi, it's been a while since I've visited these forums!
I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that offered tutorials or templates for creating DVD box art?
I can handle the art/illustration aspect - I'm more concerned about the actual sizing and layout of box art. It's a pretty tall request and I haven't found anything yet but I thought I'd see if anyone here had experience or know a resource on the topic.
Thanks for any help or info you can provide. I appreciate it! |

Dammit, that's cheating. That's against the rules.
Although you should be able to pull the cover off of the case and measure it easily enough.
I really liked with my trigun discs that a slip came with the dvd case of the cover art. was a nice touch. |

I painted a cover for one of my sons cartoon videos the other day and all I did was pulled the original cover out scanned it in to PS6 then used the box selection tool(not sure if that is the correct name) to select the back , front and side.I put each selection on its own layer then painted away. When finished I collapsed the layers and made sure the size was right then printed. That is about it hope this helped a bit. |

yeah, just take the measurements from a DVD box. Depending on whether the job is personal or professional ,I suggest doing your painting in cm or inches instead of pixels and do it at a higher DPI like 600 (300 minimun) or so.. It'll be huge but when it gets printed itll look great. |
