That's right, mem-shit

if I draw with the lasso tool for 10 sec or so PS just Lag's and it takes like 30-40 seconds before the selection is done. For me this is a Catastrophy, without a working lasso tool I'll be like gollum without the prescius! Shocked KHOLLM KHOLLM!! Shocked

I have Win XP pro with SP 1 and 1024 Mb DDRam This happenes in any rez while painting, it appeared couple of days ago so I've been able to do this without the "Lag"

I thought there was something wrong with my wacom, but this happenes with my mouse TOO!!!

has anyone else had this problem? what can I do to make it stop?

Thanx in advance

BTW I have plenty of disk space left =(((

John (who can fix nothing)

The help file has quite a few tips that might be related, under:
-improving performance
-assigning scratch disks

Think defrag the scratchdisk and stop some background applications might help a bit.

What graphics card are you using...? I use an nVidia card and the same thing happened to my lasso tool when I had their nView Desktop Manager enabled. If I disable it, the lasso works fine. When enabled, I get that painful lag. Whatever it is, I suspect there is some other graphics oriented program in the background that is causing the problem.

Retard... I have several lasso oriented tuts Check 'em out at http://www.eyewoo.com/ndx_tutorial.html . Keep your kidney, but I'll take your youth... Smile

Smile .. no problem ..

btw.. this is a kind of general thing i'm posting.. but... to get maximum performance from Win XP I used the following tutorial

http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=324&dPage=2

its useful.. and I really think it helped me with my system..

Ofcourse this is probably totally unrelated to your problem.. but its a handy link Smile

Hey

I was thinking, isnt that like a mem problem in Photoshop?
Go to, Edit - Preferences - Memory and image Cache, there you can change the memory usage. I use like 70% and I think that works pretty good actually considering I have only 384MbRam.

even if it was 50%, he has 1024mb of ram, 50% (the default) would still be 512. Plus he said it was working before.

Same deal with the page file, he wouldn't even be using it (unless hes a little crazy...) because he has a definite surplus of ram.
