this is shocking with pain everytime i see it.
damn.
where i live there are maybe the most car accidents in the world compared to the population (6 million). ~600 people a year die in car accidents. car accidents are bad, especially when most of them can be avoided if only people would care. |

I dont know why but those who really get hurt are usually those who didnt cause the accident.... near where I live theres a stretch of road which has a marker every hundred metres or so, three of them I knew (and I think that is quite a lot, even for such a small town).
imo there should be zero tolerance on drunk driving... get caught once, never set foot in a car again. |

I think they were even talking about making that into a television commercial... I really think that's what's needed to get people thinking at this point...
sort of makes you scared to leave the confines of your room... no matter how safe YOU are, there are always retards everywhere and they seem to multiply exponentially... _________________ Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

It happens here so often that I'm shamefully indifferent every time some kid is killed by a drunk driver.
It's pretty much an everyday occurrence here, and I've known no small amount of people affected or killed by morons with their booze.
Pot is illegal, liquor is fun! Makes about as much sense as when I turn on the TV and see more bullets than bare breasts. _________________ QED, sort of. |

Here it's the same.

I have to agree. I meditated on the matter and tried put myself in Reggie Stephey's shoes (the drunk driver); the pain of living would just be too much.
My beliefs and principles for life prohibit suicide, so I would forever place myself to the compassionate servitude of my fellow human beings.
Heavy stuff altogether. _________________ - Tom Carter

ouch
I drink but I can sit here and honestly write that I drink responsibly. I happen to be a father myself with a beautful daughter, so I know a few things about living.

You are absolutely correct.
Having a child, for me, was truly a life altering experience; it transcended the concept of "value change"; it took it to a new level - a higher level even. As a result the importance of my well being has taken precendence, because now I have a child that I want to be there for her as long as I can. I have long since quit any kind of "habit" that one might deem a detriment to health (I still love beer and have a vast palette different kinds, but I am a very moderate drinker). I eat better, and exercise regularly. I want to make sure I am always there for her; that is my sole mission in life.

I think her will to live is a testament to the nature of existence as often defined by consciousness (pardon the esoteric drip, please). Although she is seriously hampered by physical limitations, she seems to be courageously looking at what she has and not what has been taken from her. She can still see what the world has to offer; she can still feel the embrace of her family and friends; she can still know and experience the taste of a well prepared dish and feel the warmth of the sun.
There are many wondrous and beautiful things in this world, but we often fail to see or experience them.
