Okay. This topic isn't just the thing which belongs to this area but I wanted to ask some feedback. I really did some big changes to my website look. Mostly because of those feedback saying that the old was too saturated and disturbing. And I think that it really was - although my tolerance is pretty high. Smile

Now I humbly ask you to check them and give me feedback concerning colors.. are they good now?

Thank you, terrestials...

apart from the purple vomit at the top, the colors are just fine. now ditch all the graphics and it'll be considerably alot better.

Wow that's better!!!
The purple still disturbs me a little but it's a matter of taste now I guess! And you reduced the file size of the images!?

Good work!

faustfx: thank you.. i think that you are one of those who hate neon colors, aren't you? Wink I guess... but I think I have some kind of obsession to use purple/pink/violet colors and tones... I have noticed that your website has deleted, but why?

Capt. Fred: Thanks a lot. Nice to hear you like... Smile

AndyT: Also for you, thanks. Do you hate purple in general? Wink Oh.. as I said to faustfx, I guess that I have some obsession and glowing enthusiasm to use such colors to get contrast. I think the site is better now and yes, I really reduced the file sizes. Yes.

I hope I had a scanner to use at this very little moment... umm..

Anything else, people?

So you do listen to the feedback, regardless of your violently-defensive reactions to everything. Thats good to know.

The site looks much better. I always respect html and css based designs vs image smorgasbords. The purple collage at the top is just not a very good collage... thats probably why people don't like it. Including me. I have no problem with the color. Just too much mixed in in there. Its busier than a hawaiian shirt, with large elements that are hard to make out.

The font for the links... "about me" "my art" etc is a little difficult to read. Even on moderate resolutions.

Other than that, good job.

Nice to see more feedback here.. thanks for Dr. Monkey and Hase.

Well, I understand. I have designed differerent websites since 1995 - more or less. But now I haven't done them for a long time.During those 7+ years I have done different color mixes and different layout types. I have noticed that people easily do something which is popular for each times. And here comes my first point, I DO NOT want to do similar webistes that others do.

Most of the TRENDY, COOL and POPULAR GRAPHIC websites comprise of quite same elements.

There are:

- 101000100101010 combinations
- horizontal and vertical lines
- abstract shapes
- points and balls
- signs and marks
- same blue tones
- Flash animations and effects ( I hate them!!)
- etc. etc..

Just some samples. I avoid to use some of those typical elements. I hate Java Applets and Flash animations. Maybe they are "cool" and fit well as graphic sites but I always skip intros. I want to see what's inside of the site. One of those irritating elements is "the mat" as a first page. You have to click once more and AFTER that you see the main page. Bad.

Okay. I don't want to omplain and moan about these things. There are some many things that concern web designing. Everyone do it still different way and it's ok. Everybody has got different skills.

And yes Dr.M, the font for the links is a bit awkward to read because of the size of the font - it's only 7/9 pt. And things goes more difficult if your resolution is higher then 1024x768. I designed my site for that.

Umm..nothing more at the moment. Thanks.

Horizontal and vertical lines? Abstract shapes? Points and balls? Signs and marks? That doesn't leave much... I wouldn't say those are trendy at all, but more basic and often essential.

Yeah. Of course they are essential and basic elements designing and creating websites I also use them. I try to make choises that fit well to every strange site. I don't try to put them all together just because they are just "cool". I meant that people feast with them. Or how do express it. :)Some use them as accompaniment or filling.

You got my point wrongly. Sorry.

I just wanted to ask if there are any brave souls who could admit if they like about purple? Smile

Any more?

zap.br - thank you for comments. Actually I have thought that point lately... but I keep working in my mind if I had enough time and motivation to fix that top "purple confuser" Wink

And yes, I wanted to write as easy-to-read tutorilals as possible.. I have seen so many messy tuts. Yep.
