UPDATED, check further down

My first landscape painting, made in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Intuios A4.

Started 03.01.18 - 22.00
Finished 03.01.19 - 07.10
Long fun evening Smile

This is 50% of worksize, 300 dpi.
Was planned to be a totaly different image but things got changed..

I would love all comments, CCs and suggestions as this is my first landscape/background image.

Im think on adding a girl or something standing on the top stone/tree diving..

Enjoy.

bm- Nice. I would like to see what it was suppose to be. There are some very clear areas imagry wise. (top of the waterfall areas, water fall) however there are also some areas that when looked upon on thier own are not so clear as to what the dark areas and green areas are doing. If you want more me to highlight some of those areas on an overpaint let me know.

Your picture is sized too large. Even on my large monitor (2048 x 1536) I couldn't see the whole picture without scrolling. What's the point, eh!

It looks like a nice landscape, but resize the upload copy so the height is around 800 pixels max (600 is better) if you want people to see it...

If you want people to see detail work, then show full sized details as well.

That's a nice piece of scrollwork you created there! Wink I love the whole thing! Especially the details in the forest. Great stuff!

I enjoyed the picture at the size it is - simply added to the mood, for lack of a better word. An impressive sense of height was created as I scrolled and hit bottom. Keep up the excellent work.

Yep i resized it in Photoshop to see the whole image at the same time, but it doesnt look better.

Great picture .. not perfect(studied alot of water-fall-pictures myself ... its not easy to get it i think) ... well, but in a way, some parts are in a way very good so the whole picture deserv a clear thumbs up! Smile

PS: Well, i saw the eyes ... hehe Very Happy

eyewoo - large is good Smile the size was big just in case i wanted to print it someday and to convey the fact that its big waterfall Smile

cosmiq - thank you.

Loxley - thanks, ill try. i will also make a v2 of this.

Duracel - yeah its get to messy if any smaller, ill try to get the water look like more water v2. hhee, the eyes Smile

This is a really nice landscape. I like it a lot, very beautiful. I like all the subtle things going on in it. No, don't make it any smaller. Having to scroll adds to the effect. And people are always talking about how adding viewer interactivity into your work adds to the effect. Rolling Eyes Anyway, this is good. But if you want to put animals or a girl there, keep this version at least, I like it without any extra elements.

Very nice, I like it. Would make a great print framed on my wall.

Id love to see your steps in painting it!

Oh and I think eyewoo meant hed appreciate to see the painting in its full glory without a part cutted off caus its too big to be displayed on his monitor! So would I, I like big versions, but Id like to see the picture as a whole too.

Hi again, i have tried to change some colors to get a more dramatic lighting.
As i soon is gonna continue working on version 2.
Which on do you prefer, the green warm. or this more dark fantasy style.
note i will add more green and fix some very purple colors if i choose to continue on this version.

NOTE, IMAGE HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A MORE UPDATED ED. FURTHER DOWN!

i like the second colours better. But I think that the falling water needs to be more foamy. In a real water fall you can almost never see anything bethind the falling water because it is opaque foamy white. There's a huge amount of power behind that water thundering down.

Here's a ref pic to show what i mean.

This is only a draft/preview/test
Final version may be totaly different.

as you see its a totaly different mood, so i dont compare the two images, either should you. Smile

What do you think about this more dramatic mood.

Thanks.

Definitely prefer the first one. The first is very warm and inviting, whereas the second is harsh and unpleasant to look at. I would go with the first, but tone down the saturation on the foliage, and maybne give it some more color, like some browns and reds.

Yeah, I like the first one as well... It's green and luscious and falling forever... cause I have to scrooooollll.... Still like to see the whole thang on one screen. :\

Really, the 2nd one is mauve, or purple or something that looks like a barrel of vegetable die has broken up stream. Shocked
