i like the color usage--cool style..but it looks a bit flat---the hair is pretty much one shade and the part that bothers me the most is the eyes...they have no depth to them (2D)---the ear's a little weird also--then again you DID say this was a quik pic

Cool painting. Personally I would like to see some of the linework back in it, like you had in that other painting. Something about the way the linework worked with the colors/values was really appealing.

insider, thanks. glad you liked the style. you're right that it's a bit rushed... i think i should've put it in the speed thread.
Francis, that's a really useful comment. i think you're totally right about the linework - i'm still getting to grips with this new style. my next post will be a comic that should look more like the other painting. thanks again guys  |
