*first post*

This one above me rocks. I love the trails of bubbles coming off the debris..

I've always loved planes, so the works in this thread inspired me so much, I ended up trying to paint something in PS7. This is the result.... yes, craptastic. But you have to start somewhere, right? Anyway, I'm not going to waste much space with my crap.

Flushgarden, Spooge, Gecko, all you guys, are really inspiring to me. I hope someday I might be at that level where I can put down 5 brushstrokes and someone will instantly recognize it as an ME109......

One question- how do you guys start off? Do you just start putting down strokes, or do you use a block of solid color? I had to use the lasso tool to define the edge of my corsair, because I couldn't figure out any other way to get straight lines.
Anyway, the technique is really a mystery to me at this point. I'm going to browse through the discussion forum and see if I can find some help there....

And yes, I know it sucks, so if you feel like it, tell me why it sucks. I'm sure any input at this point would be tres helpful....

there should be some in progress shots in my homepage, i don't think my way of working has changed much. that is, if you want to paint in a similar way, which i'd think twice before going for :P

Cool stuff, Rapunzel!

An oversized Osprey with jets. It would never fly as the propellerbaldes would cut though the jetturbines, hehe. But you know..... Rolling Eyes

Where's everyone at?!?!?!

First off I'd like to say, that some of the work here is AMASING, and that all of the work in here is TRULLY inspiaring. Very fast to very painfully detailing shows the differance but doesn sease to give ideas and inspiration.

I'm working on a pic to put up here, but with my exams starting in a few days I had 2 lay off the work for the next week. This was horrible as the time i was most inspired I had 2 study Sad.

I thought I might as well ask questions before I start to colour mine.

(I'm huge noob to realistic colouring in da graphic progs.)

I noticed that people switch from painter to photoshop, why is this so, and if you are one of the ones that switch, what do you do with each prog?(texture, etc.)

I used photoshop for a while and know enough about it, but photopaint I know just enough to paint, lets say basics Razz so n e help will be helpfull.

An offering to this propeller thread:

copter.swf (1.8 mb ~ Basically all the frames are rasterized because I did it in After FX with effects flash can't do but decided to export it as a flash file anyways...*shrug* why not?)

I hope you like it. =)

I had so much more in mind, but after sitting here for way too long I got kinda intimidated at thinking how much longer it would take to do another scene with a whole slew of them flying madly about whizzing by the camera or maybe a dogfight or assault scene...those possibly later.
