Don't worry about it Matthew. I've never encountered anybody as boundlessly enthusiastic as you are about digital art . . . which, admittedly, is sometimes annoying . . . but you're loads better than the newbies who used to come in here and get all combative when anyone tried to critique them *coughSTNEILcough*
I think the biggest thing you need to work on right now is to try and do something that's really completely finished . . . maybe the next time you do a drawing, don't post it right away. Come back to it the next day and work on it some more . . . flip the image horizontally so that you can spot your errors. Try spending 12 or 15 hours on a picture.
Sketches and speed paintings are cool, but it takes a TON of experience to be able to work quickly and have it turn out good . . . try taking it slow, and concentrating on /one/ piece for a while. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

ya know matthew, i could post lots of stuff here, but i don't bother 'cause i don't think (and i know) that this forum is not the place for the kind of stuff i do. right now i'm doing record cover(s) and versions of them that are 'nu' to the max. what good would it do if i posted those? nothing. they aren't paintings. i don't consider them art. i could post an assload of quick "paintings" i've done in the last week or so but what good would that do? they would give the forum nothing, they aren't technically or artistically anything special. why should i post those? when i have something i feel satisfied and good about, i will post it, regardless of it's nature - 2d, 3d, nu polygons or stick figures. my goal is not to clutter the finished work gallery with bullshit drawings that look like they came from the hands of a 5 year old eel with parkinson's. my goal is not to flood the wip/finished subforums with flaming and insults either, but since you're really crying to get them (see your post if you don't get "it"), you get them. you wouldn't have posted that if ya didn't want them so.. since you asked for it, you have no place to cry about it. now shut up and vanish. _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

The anatomy needs a lot of work.
Some simple tips for you:
Step 1: Get a pad of tracing paper
Step 2: Trace some drawings done by an artist with some talent
Step 3: Jump off a bridge
Hope this helps!! |
