How much time did you spend on this?
The painting itself looks good. To get a finished look there are what seems hundreds of differant ways to accomplish it in photoshop. However, each one uses going over the image many times, refining it and refining it and refining it.
I think the stance and layout of the image are very slick! I also like the color combonation.
Keep it up _________________

Overall I like the picture, and it has potential, and I love the Nice paint-like feeling that you gave it.
Since you're asking for how to make it more "finished" I'll also give you some comments on things that could help you out once you fix them.
First I have to agree with Awetopsy , the arm seams off, if you look at it closely, the anatomy in general needs some revisions. We should not see his back shoulder like that, from his stanting position, and the head seams to be detached somehow. The hand in the back looks bigger than the one on the front. Then the arrow gets thicker towards the back, when it should be the other way around. Keep the perspective in mind, when somebody extends a hand towards you, it appears bigger than the one in the back, keeping this kind of visual tricks in mind, will help you convey a more threedimensional look, therefore more realistic.
Keep up the good work, and always remember, all this comments are not meant to discorage you, only to help you out. _________________ ZeeWire

Whee, cool to see something other than speed pics. I really like this.
I think that making the greenery darker would make the archer stand out a bit more. Some more variation on the edges could add to a more finished look too, I'm not saying tighten everything up, but some parts could use more refining.
Also, it'd be easier for him if he rested the arrow on top of the bow _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

as i said earlier in deviantart, i love the colors, especially the red line makes a great impression and fits perfectly to this style.
the only crit i have is the overall composition, it lacks a clear perspective and concentrates only on the character, but without thinking the pic as a realistic background it is one of my all-time favorites, great job, carry on. |

I really like this one. You've invested time in values... they are tight. The only thing that stands out (for me) is the back leg. Maybe slightly darker.
