I know I don't post much of my work... well heck haven't posted much of anything here lately. Any who thought I might post one that I truely hold dear. I know most of your guys' work ends up on books, games, posters, lunch boxes, but how many can say it ended up on a tombstone? Came across this while I was going through some old pictures:
This belongs to (used to be) my best friend, Morgan. She was killed when we were 12 years-old from a gun shot wound to her side. Supposibly a "hunting accident". She was suppose to have been with me that weekend, but plans had changed and then changed again and she ended up going hunting.
Well her mother came to me a few weeks after she died handed my some pictures and photos Morgan liked and asked me to "combined" them into a picture to be etched onto her tombstone. It took me a few weeks to do... not sure if it was because this was the last thing I could give her or what. It's a kitten batting a a butterfly with a rose going up it's tail. She loved cats and butterflies and her nickname was Rosebud. Yet, it was another year before it was place at the foot of her plot because the picture of her on the left side (facing the front) was sent to Germany to be painted. It also has a poem she wrote earlier that year on the back.
This is the 1 piece that was an honor, but I wish never to do again. _________________ Im not saying that there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but warning labels should be remove and let the problem take

Looks nice from what I can see. Having ones art on a tombstone is really different.
Sorry to hear about that loss though, has to be horrible to lose your dearest friend. ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

Very nice work of art. Mostly, I am truley sad to hear your story. Loss is always painful, especialy when your to young to supposed to be able to understand it.

IMHO this is the best kind of art, not because its on a tombstone, but because it makes the viewer feel the loss.. and for that I applaud you as an artist.
I am however also very sorry for the loss. |
