This is a tiny digital painting of a cute dog, made to be printed as a miniature. It was quite a challenge, because it was requested that I make it noble and epic, but the dog is very small....
I painted valiantly, though, and I TROUNCED THAT DOG!
Eh, well, that didn't come out quite right, did it? What I meant to say was...oh, nothing. I'm just rambling. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

Anyone else see a giant monster ant in the clouds?
That's an amazing thing you do, invoking imagination.
Thanks,

Noble and epic? Wit that little fluffy excuse for a real dog? Wait...
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!1
OK, ready to go on now. Err, well you did a great job nevertheless. Your way of doing environments is always sheer eye candy. _________________

Socar, I find that pic simply wonderful.
The dog doesn't really look that noble, but a small dog can't look as noble as a big one. _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

very beautiful clouds, and I love the way you have the grasses changing color as they fade away into the distance. |

Wow, that sky is breathtaking! What kind of doggy is that, a Bichon?
Have you done any painting of Golden Retrievers, Socar?
Great job. |

Intuos - Hm...I'm ashamed to say so, but I have no idea what kind of dog it is. But from the reference pictures, I'd guess it's about knee high, white, with coarse curly/fluffy hair. The photos weren't that good, so I had to guess a lot. And, no, I haven't yet painted any Golden Retrievers, but I probably will one day--they seem to be a popular breed. I think the closest I got so far was something that looked like a Rottweiler/black lab mix. Oh, and thanks for the compliment!
Sumaleth - Thank you! Colour is fun....
JickyJak -
eyewoo - Blimey...where do you see that stuff? I can't see ANYTHING in the clouds, myself! But people are reporting all kinds of hidden imagery...very bizarre!
Simoom - Thank you very much! The background was supposed to be mostly sky, so I decided to make it fade away so it wouldn't interfere.
Ragnarok - Thanks! And you're right--it's much easier to make a big powerful dog look noble.
[666]Flat - Hahaha, thanks! I'm with you there...it was certainly a challenge. Maybe there's some artist out there who could actually pull it off, but that wouldn't be me!
liv the fish - Thank you! I feel left out, though--I can't see a thing in the clouds!
Matthew - Thank you very much! ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

Clouds and colors are wonderful. Dreamy yet posible.
The exact fluff-edge ratio!
Must practise, thanks for being an inspiration

I've heard that noble dogs have blue drool. The dog may not have the average epic potential, but you've compensated it pretty well with the drastic weather and background. |

Nice work as usual. The interpretation of two dogs jumping in the clouds is great! About the noble stance, maybe lifting him even higher, and making him shine more would help. Other than that, interesting colours, quite a stretch compared to the usual, more mono-chromatic ones.
Keep it up! (as if you need to hear that) _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |

Hahaha, I think I've had more fun reading the replies to this thread than any other I've ever started--and that includes the one back in 2001 that turned into a big fight about what's "goth" and what isn't!
Grunf - I like the battle scene there--looks like Clifford meets Concrete, or something!
guanzi - Thanks, I think!
Torstein Nordstand - Good point there! I'll have to remember the whole shine idea next time I try to paint something/someone looking noble. Kind of like those old religious paintings with the radiant light around Jesus, eh?
Malachi - Thanks very much! Clouds are fun to paint!
Max - Woo, neat! I think it's cool that you saw two puppies playing where somone else saw a battle--everyone else is WAY more creative than me! *snf*
eyewoo - I just about died laughing at the lion! But, dammit, those bunnies are TOTALLY there--once you've seen 'em, you can't unsee 'em!
laslauk - Haha, yeah, maybe that blue shadow was a bit much, eh? Glad you like the bg, though!
Serg - Thank you! Not my usual colours, but they were fun.
Sukhoi - Thank you very much! Haha...must practice too.... *groan* Never good ENOUGH! _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.
