The navigation is using one of your pics. I dunno if he or she got your permission, but I thought I'd just let you know incase.

What exactly is the harm in this? Most blogs use artwork that the blog owner likes and is often considered a tribute to the original artist o_O.

Hello all, and greetings.

The page http://socialinsecurity.blogspot.com is mine, and it is me who has inadvertantly used one of Dhabih's images.

This was pointed out to me this evening by "Intuos", who i note posts regularly on these forums. I will therefore spare "Intuos" the embarrasment of cutting and pasting his extremely rude e-mail to me, as well as the one containing false information and claims.

I must make it clear that i am not in the habit of knowingly using anyone's work without their permission and have mailed Dhabih this evening explaining the situation and requesting permission to continue using the image if i provide a link to the homepage and credit him with the work. Obviously if this permission is denied the image will be removed within a day or so,if not immediately

Just as a matter of interest, i picked the image up over a year ago on www.skinz.org and asked the poster if it was HIS work and could i use it .. he replied that it was. and that i could. Obviously he was lying. The image as it was posted there had no signature on it and had already been altered from the image that appears in the gallery here.

Anyways, as i said i have mailed Dhabih with all the information.

I think you should email Sumaleth instead of Dhabih. PLLLLLEASE dont tell me you emailed to [email protected]

er , yes i did because on the link from the gallery , underneath the notice headed "REVISED Notice about using my Images" there is a link that says "contact me" and then after the questions the statement "Ok well thats it. If your question wasn't here or you wish to send me a comment, suggestion, flame or whatever send your e-mail to: [email protected] .

It would seem quite clear that that is the e-mail address suggested to use. So i did.

How can you dare continue to call me "rude" when you're the one using a stolen image on your site without permission? Don't try and flip this and turn me into the bad guy.

That's like a bank robber getting pissed off when he didn't get invited to the bank's Christmas party the following year.

Whoaaa there boy.

I haven't denied using the image, and have explained several times now how i came by the image already altered without a signature. I DID ask permission of the person who claimed to have been the artist. How was i supposed to know he was lying. In fact i think, to my credit, that i am amongst the minority when it comes to actually asking permission.

Can you explain how i was supposed to know that Dhabih was the artist and owner of the work. Surely the person you SHOULD be getting angry with is the guy who altered it and posted it as his own work on www.skinz.org.

Be fair on this one. Within an hour of you telling me that Dhabih was the original artist i had e-mailed him asking his permission to continue using it.

For all YOU knew when you sent me the first of your rude e-mails i MAY have actually had permission.

The reason i keep referring to you as 'rude' is because your e-mails WERE rude. Tell me what more i can do now that i have mailed Dhabih?

If you read the notice on this site about 'use' then if the image hadn't been altered then i wouldn't even need permission as long as i had supplied a link to this site.

Infact if you get anymore arrogant or rude i will just take the image as supplied in the gallery and put a link. I just thought it was courteous to mail Dhabih and tell him that i had been inadvertantly using the image without a link.
