For awhile i thought there were few peeps like me that love Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, but I'm not. Dr. Ozone if you know him is one and tons more... Anyways how many of you like the books? And why? What do you yourself think of them (no judging just want to undeerstand what other's think about such odd books)? |

I love Lewis Carol's books. They're whimsical, interesting, playful, vivid, imaginative and witty. I think because the stories were meant for children they conjure up strong mental imagery, which is probably why a lot of very 'visual' people like them, whatever their age. Plus Carol's words have a special magic about them. When I read his books they remind me of daydreams, when our thoughts are lovely and fluid, rather than tight, structured and linear. Maybe that's Carol's magical ingredient-he gives us a sense of 'infinite possibility'. I'm glad you asked this question, it reminded me of all the reasons I like doing art.
(PS. I like Doc Ozone's site, too. Really good stuff). |

Wow... I wasn't expecting someone to be so ... um... wow... with an answer. I, too, find myself going back to his writing for ideas on my art when I draw a blank (some time even when i don't)... most of the time in Art Class when there's the assingment I have to work around, but I've come out with a ton of get project that are related to Alice in Wonderland - Through the Looking Glass. |
