Nice work cos, i like how you fade out objects that are not in the center of interest, not only the background but also the leg of the knight in the 2nd pic for exemple. It creates an interesting contrast from the more detailed parts like the armor.

Im also happy to see that there are some work for fantasy illustration. Smile

I often wondered if you use model for the pose of your characters, or is it all from your head? I saw those sketchs of yours a while ago, the anatomy was excellent. So in my quest of gaining more arstistic knowledge, i would ask you for your point of view on what a good way to learn anatomy.

Hope my english isnt too bad Rolling Eyes

tnx

The compositions could be a little more interesting, but the paintings are fantastic.

Gorgeous work =) I really like the colours and the mistiness of these pictures. They feel classical - beautifully serene.

I am sure you hear this every time you post work: WOW!

Beautiful paintings, I am a big fan of this style of "brush work" wether it be fantasy or not. Beautiful stuff. Your gallery at epilogue.net was inspiring as well.

Far beit from me to crticize someone who is so obviously far more advanced in skill than I but there is something a little off about the 'pennant' on the warrior's spear inthe first one...cant quite pin it down but my eye keeps going to it for some reason.

Cheers.

Spectra - Thanks for your comment. Nah I generally don't use any reference for poses, I prefer to try and work from my head. If it's a tough pose or perspective I'll use it tho, and hopefully learn something from it. I did get a friend pose the hand gestures for me on the second painting, tho that's pretty much it.

Not sure what advice to offer on improving other than to draw as much as you can.. Life Drawing has been a big help, more than I expected actually. Also draw from magazines, books, anatomy books, movies, whatever whenever you can. As long as you're learning something it's worth it.. and keep it up, it'll start to come through eventually.

Enayla - Hey thanks, classical and serene pretty much sums up mood I wanted to created, great compliment..

Loved your latest work btw, one of my favourites of yours. Happy new year to you =)

JickyJak - Hey thanks, and don't worry constructive input is always welcome. I'm not sure if you meant the spearhead looks odd?

shin/ immi/ edible snowman/ cobaltblue/ crazybread/ Lunatique/ ZakatH/ Matthew/ Max Kulich - Thanks for your comments!

No, sorry the spearhead looks fine, its the pennant flapping about - There something odd, not necessarily the way it was rendered but perhaps the composition of it, how it relates to the spear and the figure...it could be just me...so please forget my ramblings.

Again beautiful work Smile
