First of all, hello again everyone!
I don't know if anyone remembers me around here, but I used to hang out here a couple of years ago. Then I stopped for some reason, and I've taken a break from drawing anything at all for a couple of months. My "spark" was just gone, didn't feel I could do anything good. I think I'm getting back to it now though, and I've picked it up again.
I'm having a hard time getting the anatomy right though, and I think it'll be easier to learn it if I got some pointers..
Below is a concept I'm working on, I've been working on this one for about an hour or so, but I just couldn't get her legs right, so I gave up and drew a dress instead (which ended up being to short and what-not anyway).
I was hoping someone with good knowledge of anatomy and scale would be so kind as to draw her some legs on top of my drawing or something, just so I can see the general size I should do them in.
Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks in advance, hopefully (?) you'll see more of my stuff in the future, if I feel I've truly gotten my inspiration back Smile

*phew* that was a long post, wasn't it?

I really love your image!
Very well done!

I tried to paint the legs for your girl.
Are they in the right position now? hope so...

Good luck

Thanks a lot! I'll try to work some more on it based on what you drew.

Well, I finnished it, and I just thought I'd post the result. I might do a full picture based on the design some time.

Thanks again for your help Max. I just used what you drew as a reference for general scale, and location of the knees.

I like it so far. One problem though, the way you've drawn her legs she'd fall over. Remember, a figure's center of gravity is about the pit of the neck (unless they're in motion). So if you draw a straight line from the pit of the neck to the ground, that point should be between the feet (or directly over one foot, if the figures weight is nearly all on that one foot). In this case when you draw that line straight down from the pit of her neck, it ends up to the left of both her feet (she'd definitely fall over).

I agree with Inspector Lee. And I'd like to point out that her hands are too static. When you move, you move your hands too, and the way they are look like she's standing, not moving (which cames from the original idea).
Overall, nice concept.

Yea, I was about to post the same thing as Inspector Lee... though I thought it was just the head? Hm, well either neck or head works for this... I took the liberty of rotating her so you can see how much balancing helps.

Thanks for your inputs guys.
I can't believe I didn't even notice the gravity being off Embarassed
It looked better on paper (didn't think about rotating it after scanning), but still not entirely acurate now that I look at it again, after looking at matt's illustration for about that. I'll keep that in mind for drawings to come. The reason her arms are static is because I initially intented the drawing to be just a concept sketch, so to start she was supposed to be standing still, but then later, when I did her legs I just experimented a little Smile
