I finished something I've been working on for a while...
Compared to others stuff this is shitty, but I'm fairly proud, as its the best I've done yet. Crits would be nice, but the knoldge will only be applied to future projects (I'm lazy )
the image may not show up for a while....we'll see how ranchoweb is acting tonight.
btw, this is pure mind, so no reference whatsoever. |

Definitely one of the best, if not the best, of your works. I really like the way you executed the cheek bones and the other facial structures. The shading is pretty well done and the colour of the lipstick and eyeshadow really add to the face. Who is she by the way? _________________ girls like shining |

There are many serious anatomy flaws in that image.
First of all, the eye shape looks nothing like that in profile.
Secondly the ear placement is well off, if you want to correctly place the ear remember this shortcut: the back of the ear is the same distance from the pupil of the eye as the pupil is to the chin. Then just extrapolate the size of the ear from that point.
Another issue is how scrunched the head is. In reality, the human head is a pretty massive and heavy object with a very large brain inside. Because of this, the neck is actually thicker than most people think. |

alright, I'm going to draw from reference...
I have here on my lap "drawing the human body" by Giovanni Givardi
but I have a question, should I try to draw from the pictures in the book, or should I draw directly from real life. I find it easier to draw from books and stuff, I find its easier to capture the form better. But if you guys suggest drawing from real life, I can probalby do that too.
So what do you guys suggest? |

I'd do them both. Draw, draw, draw...
BTW... I rather like your picture. It has a lot of punch. Try to keep that in your work... _________________ HonePie.com

Ditto what eyewoo said. The anatomy's not great, but your contrast and color choices are nice and punchy. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |
