I'm a loser...I posted this already in the gangster thread...but it took only a few minutes, so I'm putting it here to boot.
Calavrisella mia, calavrisella mia,
calavrisella mia, sciuri d'amuri.
Lallru, lallru, lallru lalla

A bit much Frank Miller hero-worship here, maybe.... Some aging Sicilian mafia type. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

it's a silly tool but it's fun to draw with until.. the point where you realize the face you tried to draw looks like just a few different blobs of color. :( ~3.5minutes?

Some of the images in this thread are outstanding, I though I was pretty good, but got myself a brutal wakeup call when I entered this forum, I still only at a babys level...Didnt even know that ppl used to lower the opacity on the brushes
Trying to study some of the techniques you use I came up with this one, first robot thing ever!

Nicely done sleepwalker! I agree with you, there are some fabulous pictures here, and there are some crappy pictures here as well, mine included, but whatever, painting is fun!

oh, smooth airbrush for big flat shapes for the bottom color, with some of that weird impasto/van gogh shit in painter 7.. the splatter stuff was hmmh... bristle? leaky pen? something like that. too lazy to check the exact names now. some of the effect is thanks to horrid jpeg encoding, plus i did a cheap trick - put a rather severe unsharpen mask on it all in photoshop to give it some texture. it failed. _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

a slightly longer word about how i drew it.. i did do a few 'training passes' at the picture but scrapped them. especially with photoshop when i "painted" stuff i had hard time mixing colors, figuring out the right tones.. in the way affected used to paint. for some shape he'd first make two or three coarse shapes with flat colors.. then started shading it with pressure sensitivity, working the coarse shapes into something more concrete, with constant eyedrop-colorselecting action going on. i liked that way of drawing, not having to raise your hand from the wacom even once or move your offhand from alt, space and control at all.
now i can't do that and i hate it. fuck affected, especially 'cause his style and skills have improved sooo much along the time. (i can't wait to see something new from him after his half a year trip to the barred cell). i figured the best way for me to do is to work an airbrushed 'smooth base' for the whole thing and then start detail fucking small parts at a time, doing the same eyedrop-colorselecting thing from the extremely blurred background (where i had put the tones somewhat "right") and working up the detail and the shape from the ultrablur to something that looks sharp and textured. of course since i can't draw worth a fuck, it usually ended up in failing the big picture miserably. i'd have big areas that look bland, like i hadn't put any effort in it at all, with small detailed areas here and there.. i used to attempt a lot of "paintings" like this but all of them ended in dev/null 'cause i never finished them 'cause i lost the big picture in to the few small detail areas and noticed it isn't going anywhere.. so that leaky pen tool in painter actually made me draw something "successfull" 'cause at the scale i drew the pic, there was absolutely no space for detail - especially given the tool at hand... i should probably draw more quick stuff like that.
shrug. that's why they made me a 3d/texture/"designer"/director at mediaclick, not an artist.
someone teach me how to draw. i'm sure i'm not the only one whose bitter end in arts has been caused by the big picture/detail fucking issue. and i can't get over it and i don't have the patience to go through long painting theory lessons and stuff..
dunno if any of that made any sense. i'm blasting klf like it's 1991 again and feeling hyper and high - and i've just drank coca cola..
(heh. i've just finished reading over 300 pages worth of klf faq's, biographies, articles and legends..) _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

How do I make cubes instead of cuboids
Ok, not exactly paintings but they were done fast and I have seen stuff like that here before...

from the land of sick and twisted proportions, horrid colors and tones and highly original subjects, i bring you... yet another jaw of mine! just 'cause i found the watercolor tools from painter _and_ noticed the leakypen thingy is even more fun. started doing the pic in an attempt to figure out how to mix colors and how to achieve even somewhat (distantly) color like tones.. failed, as usual, but whatever.
let's suck on.[/img] _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

Hi folks... I really REALLY miss the summer. It's so cold outside you'll get frostbite just opening the front door. Aaaand it's gonna get colder. Aaaand it'll snow. God really hates Sweden.
So I made this =)
Feeling warmer?
