Lol, spend more time on yer sketching
Its great to sketch fast but when u'r sketching fast yer not rlly learing much. You should sketch fast once you get good sketching normally taking yer time, then SLOWLY speeding/limiting yer time. Also when u sketch fast it should be from a realistic object since this way its from yer head and fairly ez to draw.
I think its.......ok?.......but honestly i dont like it 2 much, I dont wanna sound harsh but its the straight out truth from me. It just looks like u tried to minimize the time you do it in rather then the quality you put out. So, leave the speed on hold for a long while and 1st get good with the basic skils.
gl and hf in yer progress ![Razz](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |

I don't really agree with this. There are exercises that demand beginning fast and then slowing down. The point is to go beyond your nitpicky left brain and get the gestures and vision flowing freely. Since this is not a life drawing, the artist has no choice but to begin with a sketch like this. Of course, if nubizus thinks this is a finished, final drawing, and not a sketch, then maybe I agree more with ViiSolidus, but again, I don't think that was the intent.
This drawing has excellent expressive quality and very good sense of anatomy, perspective and movement. It is not detailed, of course, but then the whole point was to get an idea on paper. As far as that goes, having the ability to slam this down is a good skill to have. Obviously, you wouldn't present this as a finished concept rendering, but if you have the skill to bring it to a finish it is great to be able to crank out the barebones "architecture" of the scene like this. The key is probably if you can repeat this performance into the future.
I'd like to see nubizus develop this into a traditional/digital painting or something. |
