(just to clarify, this isn't intended to be a loud-mouth bitchy rant... just trying to add a bit of my own thoughts to the discussion so please don't assume I'm "yelling" or "snapping" at certain people.)
You know who really needs the reality check? The people that assume all Americans are a buncha retards without a clue about whats going on in the world.
Yes. People are like that. And yes. LOTS of them are American.
But damn, at least give SOME people some credit. Some of your favorite artists here are from the states. You saying they are all morons too?
Quit making generalizations or you're just as bad as the people you're generalizing. It's really sad that most people don't see this behavior as a form of discrimination.
This is why I'm so damn tired of Sijun. Everyone here seems to want to focus on the negative in everything. It's almost sickening.
Oh well. Personally I hate this goverment, and I dislike MOST of the people I meet but the last thing I will ever do is say, "People of this nation do this. People of this color do that. People of this gender do that too."
I'm done. |

Ok. Maybe in the eyes of some people I was the first who started bashing away at the american ways. I am sorry about that. I was just telling you guys my perspective.
But I am from a fairly ..er..progressive country in terms of politics.
As far as negativity goes. In the few days I have been reading this forum I have seen mostly positive comments and constructive criticism. Unlike some other forums I frequent.
So here is a little something to balance my negative remarks about the US...
In my experience americans are the friendliest and most gallant people I know. They greet you in the streets, hold open doors, don't push into full trains like their life depends on it (and mine doesn't), etc.
This all opposed to the dutch people, commonly know as the rudest people in the world. You could get killed trying to enter a train here.
About the digital contributions to the world... The Compact Disc was invented by a dutch company called Philips. I bet you know that name. Btw..they also invented the lightbulb which was the first step towerds building a computer.
Ok..I guess that's enough nonsense for now.

sacrelicious - I'm talking about situations beyond the scope of this thread. I've heard Americans being called retards more times than you can count, lol.
And you're very incorrect about me "defending" the states. I'm not defending at all actually, I'm merely speaking out that no matter which country you're "trashing" it's not appropriate to make generalizations. The same goes for the many Americans currently running around saying that everyone from Afghanistan is a terrorist when that obviously isn't true. It's wrong in any situation. I never said, "HARRR!! YEAH!! AMERICA ROOOOCKKKS SUCKERSS!!!"
*dips herself in red, white and blue paint and squeals*
Umm... no thanks.
