starcraft:cutscene where tassadar kamakaze himself to save auir.(emotional moment )
starcraftBroodwars:secret mission, when you find out what (forgot his name, the black guy) he is up to, which is to create a protoss/zerg hybrid...cant wait till starcraft 2
Final fantasy 6 and 7: aerith's death (yes very sad) and definitly the boss fights Kefka and Sephiroth had to be the best ending boss out of all the final fantasy series...and the ending sequence where cloud those his omnislash to finish sephiroth off
Legends of the dragoon: all the fmv was pretty cool, especially the air fights between the dragoons/dragon vs visage
Xenogears:there were also lots of gaming moments here as plots and twist unravels itself.
Metal gear solid: there are tons of gaming moments that made you feel like rambo/supersoldier, one particularly when on your way to the ninja fight..where there were a dozens soldier hacked to death...and wasnt sure what was up a head.

Tribes2... when you get the flag from the stand, moving very high speed weapons fire behind you, jetting up in the air and landing on your shrike, hitting the thrusters, flying to your base and capping. Better yet, you have another shrike on your tail trying to shoot you down. Ah christ, no scripted scene can beat that... |

quake 3 challenge promode arena:
whenever the shaft of my lightning gun seems to be glued to my enemies body, so that he falls down after 2, maybe 3 seconds.
other great moments are being railed from some place below so that you fly high in the air and while your enemie is waiting for his railgun reload (1.5 seconds) killing him with lightning gun in flight.
or: flying a 90 degree edge (bunnyhopping) and bumping into an enemie and having the reflexes to quickly switch to gauntlet.
etc...
oh and vanishing enemies with gouki's ultra-hellish super art in street fighter 3: 3rd strike is always a great feeling too
to say in general: whenever in a game that focuses on fastpaced duelling (not like unreal tournament or half life, counter-strike etc... sh*t) an enemie is down due to a fair, skilled and honorful fight. |

halflife : crawling through a tunnel approaching a hatch at the end when suddenly the wheel turns, it opens up, a marine tosses in a bomb and shuts it. and you haul ass backwards
max payne : i don't remember which level, but i ran up a stair case and was reloading my gun when i hear a *clink clink* as a greande comes around the corner. i'd already stopped, and only had time to mutter, "fuck" as it blew |

******SPOILERS AHEAD*********
System Shock 2 - When you find out that SHODAN was just keeping the doctor alive to use you, the scene where you find her dead body and SHODAN talks to you is chilling.
Thief: The Dark Project - When you first complete the entire game on Expert mode without being detected or blackjacking anyone. Then you know that you're a true Taffer.
DOOM - The first time I started this up in 1993, I almost fell out of my chair because the graphics were so amazing.
Fallout - The ending, when the Overseer tells you that you're not wanted in the Vault anymore. I took out my chain gun and turned him into kibble. Then proceeded the emotional end cinematic.
Diablo - When you first see The Butcher, he scared the crap out of me. It was at 4 am, all the lights were out... scary!
Grim Fandango - Hmm... well, I love the whole game so much. But I like the part where Glottis says at the end, "Manny... you're the best boss I ever had!" and he cries.
Those are probably my favorites, at least what comes to mind. There have been some really great moments while gaming, I must say. Cheers! |
